Patty Labelle, La India, Fanny Lu & many more will headline 1st Miami Beach Gay Pride, Saturday, April 18th, 2009

Gracias a la alcaldesa de Miami Beach – Matti Bower, la playa más famosa del mundo se unirá al elenco de grandes ciudades tal como Sao Paulo, San Francisco, New York, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Chicago y Madrid que apoyan a la comunidad gay patrocinando el primer evento local de orgullo gay el Sabado 18 de Abril de 2009.

El evento incluirá una parada a lo largo de Ocean Drive – para la cual se bloqueara el tránsito desde la calle 5 hasta la 15, un festival y expo de negocios en Lummus Park, entretenimiento y música en vivo. La lista de artistas a presentarse en el evento fue publicada recientemente, entre ellos están:

India: notable cantante de salsa nominada a los Grammy y Latin Grammy awards. Comenzó su carrera en la era de la música freestyle con los hits del Billboard Dance Chart “Dancing On The Fire” y “The Lover Who Rocks You” para luego hacerse conocida como la “Princesa de La Salsa”, nombre que le dio su madrina Celia Cruz. India grabo el exito mundial “Love And Happiness” junto a su ex esposo DJ Little “Louie” Vega. Recientemente ha tenido varios éxitos dance incluyendo el remix #1 de “I Can’t Get No Sleep” y “Music Is My Life” producida por DJ Roger Sanchez.

Fanny Lu: cantautora Colombiana nominada a los Latin Grammy. Sus más recientes éxitos incluyen “No Te Pido Flores”, “Y Si Te Digo” y el #1 en Billboard Latino “No Eres Para Mi”.

Ceevox: Conocida por sus éxitos en el Billboard Dance Chart, esta cantante de House se ha hecho popular trabajando con los mejores productores en canciones como “My Imagination” y su más reciente éxito “In The Night”.

Carol Jiani: cantante Nigeriano-Canadiense establecida en Inglaterra mejor conocida por su clásico éxito de los 80s “Hit N Run Lover”.

Miami Gay Men’s Chorus: una organización comunitaria integradora formada por hombres gay y personas que apoyan a la comunidad que inspira y cambia vidas por medio del poder de la música.

Patty LaBelle: Ganadora de varios Grammy, actriz y cantautora Americana de R&B y soul. Reconocida por sus apasionados espectáculos y amplio rango vocal. Algunos de sus mayores éxitos incluyen “Lady Marmalade” y “On My Own”.

Richie Rich: diseñador de moda Americano y celebutante. Hoy en día forma parte del dúo de la moda conocido como Heatherette (junto a Traver Rains). Richie lanzo un álbum llamado “Celebutante” el 21 de Octubre de 2008 bajo la disquera Defend Music. El álbum es una recopilación incluyendo canciones de Lily Allen, Mya, Scissor Sisters, Blondie y una del mismo Richie, también titulada “Celebutante”.

Thanks to Miami Beach Mayor Matti Bower, the most famous sandbar in the world will join the ranks of world class cities like Sao Paulo, San Francisco, New York, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Madrid that officially honor the gay & lesbian community by hosting its first city-supported pride event on Saturday, April 18, 2009

The event will include a Parade down Ocean Drive, Business Expo/Festival in Lummus Park, entertainment, dancing and live music. The artist line-up for the concert was recently announced, it includes performances by:

India: a noted Grammy Award – and Latin Grammy Award – nominated singer of salsa. She began her career in the freestyle era singing Billboard dance hits like “Dancing On The Fire” and “The Lover Who Rocks You” then became known as the “Princess of Salsa”, a name given by her godmother Cuban Legend Celia Cruz. She recorded “Love And Happiness” a worldwide hit with former husband Dj Little “Louie” Vega, recently India has had several dance hits including The #1 remix to “I Can’t Get No Sleep” and The DJ Roger Sanchez produced “Music Is My Life”.

Fanny Lu: Latin Grammy nominated singer and songwriter from Colombia. Her recent hits include “No Te Pido Flores”, “Y Si Te Digo” and the Billboard Latin #1 “No Eres Para Mi”.

Ceevox: Known for her many Billboard Dance Hits this soulful house-music singer has gone international, working with the top producers and remixers in songs like “My Imagination” and her recent smash “In The Night”.

Carol Jiani: Nigerian-Canadian singer based in England best known for her early 1980’s classic hit “Hit N Run Lover”.

Miami Gay Men’s Chorus: an inclusive, community-based organization of gay men and gay-supporting people that inspires and changes lives through the power of music.

Patty LaBelle: Grammy winner, American R&B and soul singer-songwriter and actress. Known for her passionate stage performances, wide vocal range and distinctive high-octave belting. Some of her biggest hits include “Lady Marmalade” and “On My Own”.

Richie Rich: American fashion designer and celebutante. Today he is part of the fashion duo known as Heatherette (together with Traver Rains). Richie released an album called “Celebutante” on October 21st, 2008 on record label Defend Music. The album is a compilation of songs including tracks from Lily Allen, Mya, Scissor Sisters, Blondie, and one from Richie himself, also titled “Celebutante.”
