Venezuelan singer Marger has been chosen to perform various songs from her hit album “Como Te Digo” at the famous event on Saturday, October 17, 2009 in support of the LGBT community.

WHAT: The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force’s 13th Annual Miami Recognition Dinner

WHEN: Saturday, October 17, 2009, 6:30 PM – Midnight

WHERE: Fontainebleau Miami Beach, 4441 Collins Avenue; Recognition Dinner guests receive a discounted rate of $229 per night by calling 800.458.8885 and asking for the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force group rate.

WHY: The Miami Recognition Dinner is THE premier gathering for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community of South Florida.  The event honors LGBT people and their allies who have made a visible and positive impact on the fight for civil rights.  It also serves as a major fundraiser for LGBT organizations.  One-third of the net proceeds benefit the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, the country’s oldest national organization dedicated to securing equality for LGBT people and the producer of the Recognition Dinner.  The Task Force donates the remaining two-thirds of the proceeds to the Dade Community Foundation’s GLBT Community Projects Fund, which re-grants the money to local organizations serving the LGBT community.

POR QUE: Miami Recognition Dinner es la principal reunión de la comunidad gay, lesbiana, bisexual y transgénero (GLBT) en el Sur de la Florida. El evento honora a la comunidad GLBT y sus aliados quienes han logrado un visible y positivo impacto en la lucha por los derechos civiles. También ayuda a recaudar fondos para organizaciones GLBT. Un tercio del total recaudado beneficia al National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, la mas antigua organización Nacional dedicada a defender la igualdad de la comunidad GLBT y productora del Recognition Dinner. El resto de los fondos son donados al Dade Community Foundation’s GLBT Community Projects Fund, que a su vez re-distribuye el dinero a organizaciones locales que apoyan a la comunidad GLBT.
