FEY PERFORMS AT THE 2006 SAN FRANCISCO PRIDE FESTIVAL & RECEIVES A PROCLAMATION FROM THE MAYOR

The San Francisco Pride Festival is the most attended single day event throughout all of San Francisco. Over 500,000 people showed up to celebrate pride, watch the spectacular Pride Parade, watch amazing live performances and frolic blissfully throughout the day. Granda Entertainment, LLC in association with Club Papi productions produced the Latin Stage and came through with amazing live acts. Calling the following a noteworthy show would be a definite understatement; immensely electrifying would be a more appropriate description. Mexican pop super sensation, Fey performed for the sea of thousands who ritually gather in front of the festival’s Latin Stage and anticipated nothing less than the thrill they received. Fey performed a few medleys of older favorites from her musical repertoire and followed with an a capella teaser of her first single from her upcoming record “Faltan Lunas”. Though the day was filled with lighthearted fun and frivolity, there was a moment taken for something more substantial. Fey was presented with a special proclamation by Robert Ortega on behalf of San Francisco Mayor, Gavin Newsom. Fey was presented with the surprise proclamation in recognition of her unfaltering dedication and commitment to the GLBT community. This is not by any means the first time she is recognized by the GLBT community. Earlier this year, the Mexican songstress was recipient at the 17th Annual GLAAD Media Awards held on Thursday, May 25th, 2006 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in South Beach, FL.  The GLAAD Media Awards honored mainstream media figures for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and the issues that affect their lives. The award that Fey received was the Valentia Award, and award presented to media professionals who, through their work in Spanish-language media, have increased the visibility and understanding of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.
