Thalia once again proved why she is a superstar when the first single, Equivocada, from her upcoming musical production Thalia en Primera Fila, set a sales record on iTunes, followed by a second single, Enséñame a Vivir,authored by Mexican singer and songwriter Reyli.
Along with the promotion on iTunes, the Mexican star is promoting her CD/DVD with media outlets in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Mexico and Latin America. She is also the cover for the month of November of Glamour magazine, which features inside a very intimate interview.

New York, NY – 23 de Noviembre – SHAKIRA lanza hoy en los Estados Unidos una edición especial de su tercer disco en inglés She Wolf. Esta edición cuenta con temas extras, disponibles por primera vez en un solo disco, incluyendo “Give It Up to Me” (producido por Timbaland y con participación de Lil Wayne), “Did It Again” (con participación de Kid Cudi) y presentaciones exclusivas en vivo. El lanzamiento internacional de She Wolf se ha convertido en un éxito instantáneo al ocupar el lugar #1 en 18 países y vender más de 1.5 millones de discos hasta la fecha.
El contagioso primer sencillo, “She Wolf”, que da título al álbum, logró un impresionante debut internacional que no tardó en dominar las listas de popularidad, vendiendo casi un millón de sencillos en los Estados Unidos y encabezando la lista de sencillos de iTunes. Ambos, la canción y el video, obtuvieron una serie de 1ros lugares, incluyendo el #1 en la lista de “Hot Singles”, debut #1 del video en iTunes y MTV, y ser video #1 en 7 países a nivel mundial, convirtiéndolo en uno de los más descargados del año. Actualmente se está lanzando en la radio hispana el segundo sencillo del álbum, “Lo Hecho Está Hecho”, que cuenta con la participación especial del popular rapero Pitbull.
Para este álbum de estudio, Shakira elevó su fusión pop a un nuevo nivel, mezclándolo de forma muy única con sonidos internacionales. Al ser productora principal de She Wolf, Shakira colaboró con múltiples talentos creativos para escribir y producir en el álbum, incluyendo a The Neptunes, John Hill y Wyclef. Para uno de los temas, Shakira invitó al reconocido compositor Hossam Ramzy, que anteriormente trabajó con Led Zeppelin en Kashmir, para insipirar un arreglo único de cuerdas orquéstales egipcias en el tema “Why Wait”.
Sus decisiones individuales y creativas, además de audaces, han contribuido a diferenciar a Shakira de otros artistas. Más de 60 canciones se crearon para este disco, pero solo unas pocas fueron minuciosamente seleccionadas. Epic Records’ recording artist and international superstar, Shakira, has released her second single, produced by Timbaland and accompanying music video, “Give It Up To Me” featuring Lil Wayne, off her highly anticipated album, SHE WOLF in stores November 23rd. The “Give It Up To Me” music video is a dance showcase which stays true to Shakira’s culturally diverse routines and her unmatched ability to interpret them to her own signature style.
Known for constantly reinventing the art of dance in her videos, Shakira combines techniques from across the globe in “Give It Up To Me”. Shakira infused Jamaican dancehall with the complex art of “stepping,” which is deeply rooted in the African American culture of fraternities and sororities. Stepping is a percussive dance which uses footsteps, hand and body clapping to a beat in military precise formations which only Shakira could translate to the hard-hitting, energetic dance beats of “Give It Up To Me”. For an added twist, she learned an intricate, traditional Thai dance sequence for the video. Shakira fused the three styles, creating a cohesive and dynamic routine.
Fans had the chance to log onto Shakira’s Facebook page or watch and interact on Ustream on Monday, Nov. 16th at 3pm Eastern Time to witness the first ever live video premiere of “Give It Up To Me.” Powered by Ustream, the leader for live broadcasting on the internet, fans will have an opportunity to interact via chat and Social Stream.
